Who Can Participate?
Children and adults with a diagnosed disability or challenge are welcome at TRI. Our participants come to us with a wide variety disabilities and challenges—autism, down syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and cerebral palsy are some common diagnoses that our participants carry. We also serve those who may be surviving cancer, have age-related memory loss, or are recovering from physical trauma. Horses may be a source of help for you or someone you love.

Benefits of Equine-Assisted Activities
The unique gait of the horse moves the rider's body in a way that closely resembles the way people walk. Riding and working with horses can supply a freedom that many of our students do not experience in their daily life. The ability to control a horse adds a sense of power that increases confidence and self-esteem. Students have the opportunity to socialize and make new acquaintances that can become lifetime friends.
